Frequently asked questions
- My partner's events aren't showing up.
Both phones need iCloud signed in (Settings → your name) and network access. Open Truce on both devices to trigger a sync. Events created offline are queued and should appear after iCloud becomes available; notification delivery also depends on system settings. - The apps didn't re-lock after a hall pass.
The system re-locks them at expiry, and the app double-checks every time you open it. If you ever see unlocked apps inside your schedule, open Truce once and it re-arms immediately. Then tell us — we treat this as our most serious kind of bug. - How do hall passes work?
Request one from your partner. When they grant it, your apps unlock for 15 minutes and the truce re-arms itself automatically when the pass expires. Mercy is rationed by a human instead of a timer. - I want to change which apps are blocked.
Open Settings → Apps in the vault. Free covers up to five individual app or website selections. Whole categories and additional selections require Truce Pro. - What is free and what is Pro?
Free includes one truce, Resolve solo focus, up to five individual app or website selections, preset schedules, hall passes, streaks, widgets, Clean Slate, and Mend. Pro adds whole categories, additional selections, custom schedules, and Strict Mode. One active Pro entitlement covers both people while paired. - What is Strict Mode?
With Strict Mode (Pro), your partner holds the key: breaking the truce requires their approval, not just yours. - How do I end a truce?
Settings → Dissolve Truce. Local pairing data is cleared and Truce removes the shared iCloud data when online. No lock-in — that's the point of a truce, not a cage. - What can my partner see?
Your entered name, shared schedule, and accountability timeline. Never which apps, websites, or categories you selected; never your usage, screen, or content. See the privacy policy. - Can I use Truce without a partner?
Yes. Solo mode works on day one — create a truce and start blocking immediately. You can invite a partner later. - How do I cancel or manage Truce Pro?
Open Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Truce Pro. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Use Restore Purchases on a new device. - Refunds and billing.
Purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. See also Apple's refund guidance.
