The short version
- CleanSift scans your camera roll on your iPhone. It does not upload photos, videos, face data, embeddings, or analysis results to a CleanSift server.
- There is no account, sign-in, or CleanSift photo-analysis server. Network use is limited to the Apple platform services described below and actions you initiate.
- CleanSift contains no Novarynix or third-party analytics, telemetry, attribution, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- CleanSift does not sell or rent personal data.
What CleanSift accesses
Your photo library (with your permission): CleanSift uses Apple's PhotoKit to access only the photos and videos made available through the Photos permission you choose. Full and limited-library access are supported. Scanning, classification, similarity search, face comparison, and cleanup recommendations run on your iPhone. You can change or revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
Bundled encrypted neural models: the vision models that recognize and compare photos ship inside the app and run on your device's Neural Engine. On first activation, Apple's system service may contact Apple to obtain a model decryption key. No photo, video, face data, embedding, or analysis result is sent with that request.
What is stored, and where
On your device only: CleanSift stores settings, protection rules, review decisions, scan reports, cleanup history, purchase-entitlement state supplied by StoreKit, and local analysis caches. Derived data can include visual signals, embeddings, face vectors, category decisions, and protection rules.
Cached analysis and face-derived data can be cleared from CleanSift Settings. Removing the app removes its local app-container data. Sensitive report and rule files use iOS Data Protection. The app and widget share only aggregate health information through an Apple App Group; they do not share photo pixels.
Deletion and compression stay under your control
CleanSift never deletes anything automatically. When you approve a cleanup, items are moved through Apple's Photos to Recently Deleted. Photos normally keeps them there for up to 30 days unless you remove them sooner, and Apple controls recovery and permanent removal. CleanSift cannot permanently erase a photo outside of that standard Apple behavior.
Video compression runs on your iPhone. CleanSift creates a smaller replacement, verifies the result, and moves the original to Recently Deleted only after the replacement is saved successfully.
Payments
CleanSift Pro subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase are processed by Apple. Novarynix receives entitlement and commerce information made available by StoreKit and App Store Connect, not payment-card details. Apple's privacy policy governs Apple's processing.
Network use
CleanSift has no Novarynix analytics or photo-analysis service. Network activity is limited to Apple platform services and actions you initiate:
- StoreKit contacts Apple to load products, process purchases, and restore entitlements.
- On the first successful activation of an encrypted on-device model, Apple's system services may contact Apple to obtain the model key. No photo, video, face data, embedding, or analysis result is sent with that request.
- CleanSift does not request downloads of iCloud-only originals during a normal scan. If you explicitly share an iCloud-only item, Apple Photos may download it before iOS presents the system share sheet. The destination you choose controls the resulting transfer.
Apple may make crash and performance diagnostics available through App Store Connect or MetricKit according to the device owner's Apple diagnostics settings. CleanSift does not add photo content or photo identifiers to those aggregate diagnostics and does not send them to a Novarynix analytics backend.
What we do not do
- The app requires no account, email address, phone number, or sign-in.
- No Novarynix or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. No advertising. No data sales.
- No CleanSift upload of your photos, thumbnails, face data, embeddings, or analysis results.
- No photo-library access beyond the Photos permission you grant.
Children
CleanSift is a general-purpose storage utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information, there is no personal data of children for us to receive.
Third parties
CleanSift relies on Apple platform services for photo access, purchases, encrypted-model activation, optional diagnostics, and user-initiated iCloud retrieval. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-broker relationships.
This website
The public website may generate standard server logs for security and operations. Those logs are not linked to your CleanSift app data and are not used for advertising or tracking.
If you email support, Novarynix receives the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. That information is used to respond to your request and is not linked to your CleanSift photo library or local analysis data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
